Students with a bachelor`s or master`s degree in engineering or technical sciences must enroll in the program. You don`t need to be patentable to enroll, although the vast majority of employers participating in the program are looking for patentable students. Only law students can participate in the patent law interview program. Law graduates and practising lawyers are excluded from participation. Students eligible to enroll in the program do not have to be patentable. However, many employers require a patent attorney license as a qualification to apply for interviews, and most employers prefer highly patentable students. The program is entirely chosen by the employer, which means that participating employers review the submitted documents and select law students they are interested in. The program is fully screened, meaning students submit application materials to apply for interviews with employers they are interested in, and employers then review their documents and select the students they want to interview in the program.
